THE BENEFITS OF Dance To EvOLvE's RECITAL
- Participating in our recital is encouraged but not required
- No recital fee (no mandatory recital package to participate)
- EvOLvE provides free class and performance pictures to all families
- Volunteer opportunities in exchange for benefits such as free tickets and t-shirts
- Affordable costume fee (includes costume, tights and accessories)

- Recital preparation starts in late spring as to not distract from non-recital dancers and regular weekly lessons
- To make recital convenient for everyone, dress rehearsals are scheduled directly before the actual show (It's a one stop shop for parents.)
- We hold 3-4 mini-shows (approximately 1 hour each) compared to one very long show
- Age appropriate movement and costumes
- Dance To EvOLvE believes in providing students with a non-intimidating environment for a memorable experience (no hot or scary lights and no distracting effects)

- The recital is a fun experience that creates lifetime memories
- The recital allows dancers to fully experience a performing art and the unique feeling of being on stage
- Preparing for a recital is a way for dancers to work on memorization skills, rhythm, technique, teamwork, and much more...and they LOVE having something to be proud of
- It gives dancers the opportunity to perform in front of an audience that will boost self-confidence in everything they do
- Family and friends get to see what their dancers have learned in dance class
RECITAL REQUIREMENTS/ POLICIES:
- Participating dancers must be registered in a class for the spring semester. (We encourage students to register earlier in the year as to fully benefit from the class.)
- Recital is a commitment for everyone involved (dancers, parents, volunteers, teachers, etc). Exceptions cannot be made and we encourage you to note deadlines to avoid late fees.
- The dress rehearsal is required for all participating dancers.
- Any student who misses three or more classes during recital season will be evaluated for their readiness to participate in the recital since rehearsal is during regular class time.
- All dancers who are 3 years or older are welcome to participate in the recital. (Mommy or Daddy & Me and Magical Munchkin dancers are just too young.)
- Photography and videography during any show is not allowed in the interest of the dancers' safety and enjoyment of all audience members. We will have volunteer photographers at all the shows that will provide free pictures and professional DVD's will be for sale for $22. There will also be a photo area for pictures after the show.
- Tickets are non-refundable. Seating is first come first served. (No saving of seats to be fair to everyone.)

Show 1: Saturday, June 30, 2012
(Mandatory show 1 dress rehearsal at 2:00pm. Doors open at approximately 3:30pm. Show 1 begins at 4:00pm. Approximately 1 hour with free reception to follow.)
Show 2: Sunday, July 1, 2012
(Mandatory show 2 dress rehearsal at 11:00am. Doors open at approximately 12:30pm. Show 2 begins at 1:00pm. Approximately 1 hour with free reception to follow.)
Show 3: Sunday, July 1, 2012
(Mandatory show 3 dress rehearsal at 3:00pm. Doors open at approximately 4:30pm. Show 3 begins at 5:00pm. Approximately 1 hour with free reception to follow.)
Photography/ Videography:
Please note that photography and videography during any show is not allowed in the interest of the dancers' safety and enjoyment of all audience members. We will have volunteer photographers at all the shows that will provide free pictures and professional DVD's will be for sale for $22. (Registration DVD form here.) There will also be a photo area for class pictures and that you can use after the show.

Registration Deadlines:
2/01/12: Registration Opens (Registration will be accepted via credit/ debit card online or by check via mail.)
3/01/12: Recital Registration Deadline - Costume Fee: $43
4/21/12: Late Recital Registration Deadline - Costume Fee: $53
(Registration dependent on costume availability.)
5/26/12: Last Chance Recital Registration Deadline - Costume Fee: $63
(Registration dependent on teacher's approval and costume availability.)
Costumes: No refunds. Everything included in costume fee except shoes. You keep it all! A costume will not be ordered for any dancer without payment. Please note that costumes are ordered in available sizes and families are responsible for any needed alterations.
Important Dates:
* Costumes will be distributed in class as they arrive throughout May.
3/19-3/31: Costume Fittings In Class
04/09/12: All students participating in the recital MUST be registered in class.
4/9-4/21: Final Costume Fittings In Class
(Any other fittings/ measurements must go through the EvOLvE office.)
5/21: Teachers will post recital choreography online so that students can practice at home

Adults: $10 in advance via order form/ $15 at the door with a raffle ticket (cash, check, credit card accepted)
6-14 years: $8 in advance via order form/ $10 at the door with a raffle ticket
Under 5 years: Free (although if show is full, children will be asked to sit on laps)

$10 in advance via order form/ $12 at the door (cash, check, credit card accepted at the door)
Vendors: Before and after each show, DVDs for sale by Legacy Videos at $22 (all 3 shows will be on the same DVD), and flowers for sale by Adelaide's La Jolla. Most vendors will not accept credit/ debit cards. Cash and checks please.
